Well, finally got to visit the Lee Mills knitting museum, thanks to some nice people in the birmingham KC guild. It's a disused warehouse in a tiny village near Huddersfield. We had a two hour talk about some of the musuem's acquisitions, including a vest from the 1880s and some fantastic crocheted irish lace dresses. They also have a yarn mountain of discontinued yarns, for sale at 1p a gram. Damn me for not bringing along my cheque book! Picked up some gorgeous multi-coloured yarn, will definitely be visiting again next year I think! Not ideal to get to without a car mind you, and will wear more clothes next time - it was *cold* in there!
Knitted half of a scarf with the incredible rainbow yarn, need another ball to finish it. It grows very fast at least! Made one orange sock, need to make another one for the pair.
