Yep, got 2.5 repeats into the shawl pattern (it's 3 repeats and a border) and ran out of yarn. Cast the dratted thing off last night, will see if I can crochet a border or something. It's somewhat of a shawlette. Oh well, I guess I can start the one I've designed myself now.
Have been watching with interest a thread on Ravelry regarding a new event calling itself "The Great British Wool Festival" to be held in Melton Mowbray. Dates changed (then disappeared) and there's a facebook page that keeps on disappearing and reappearing. Doesn't exactly inspire one with confidence, after the debacles of 2009 and 2010. A pity, because it's within driving distance for me.
One that does appear kosher is Cotesbach Wool Week, 1st to 9th of August.
My addiction to anything crafty created with a pointy stick, a needle or a hook.....
