Sock with invisible thread to strengthen, and latched up ribs. Still faster than ribbing by hand...
two-colour slipstitch - went a bit wrong, but never mind...
No idea why it kept dropping stitches, unless perhaps the tension was too tight? Changed the yarn from linen mix to lambswool to cotton then gave up in disgust...
