Well, spent about an hour last night cleaning up the machine. Looks like the only advantage of the 860 over the 836 is the end needle selector cams!
You wouldn't believe the amount of dust bunnies I pulled from that machine! Still, it looks a lot better for it. I can't understand why anyone would let their machine get into that state. I can even identify the last thing they did - it was an electric blue mohair. The machine wasn't well packed - the carriage was not secured, and the machine was left in fair-isle mode. However, it appears to have survived. Got all the needles soaking in surgical spirit.
