Blogstalking week 7 - Oldest picture of yourself that you can find.

This picture was taken at playschool, so I think I was probably about 3 or 4 and not at school yet. Have cropped my sister out of the picture because I don't know how she'd feel about being online (although, to be honest, she does have her own website with recent pictures on it). Anyroad, I think I blinked at the flash, which explains the stupid expression. Not sure who made the cardigan I am wearing - either mum or grandma.

Blogstalker 08 wk 3 - Colour

My favourite colours are jewel tones - magenta, red, cobalt blue, jade green. But I also like every colour together - I've always been fascinated by rainbows. Something about balance - if every colour's not there, it's not balanced. Either that, or I was colour-blind in a previous life!

Funnily enough, on their own I can't stand brown, orange or kelly green.

Blogstalker 08 wk 2 - All of my knitting needles in one place

If you think I'm rounding up all my WIPs then there's no chance of that I'm afraid - they are scattered liberally around the house. Here are the ones not currently MIA:

Tunisian crochet hooks, crochet hooks, DPNs, Denise needles and a motley selection of straight needles. Oh, and two circular needles.

Blogstalking week 5 - An Interesting Statue

Completely out of synch now but never mind...

This popped up in Rugby a few months ago, just outside Caldecott Park. It's to commemorate Sir Frank Whittle, inventor of the jet engine. Thought I might find a pic of it online, it being quite recent, but had no luck, and today's the first time I remembered to take my camera into town and the sun was shining!

Blogstalking week 11 - Favourite invention of the 20th century

Wow - this one's a toughie! I guess I can only talk from personal experience, so it'd be a tie between knitting machines (natch!), personal digital assistants and computers....

Edit: Yes, I thought afterwards that knitting machines probably pre-dated the 20th century. Didn't realise it was quite that early though, blimey!

Blogstalking Week 10 - Thankful

Bring British, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving over here, but I guess I'm still thankful for things!

  1. My health
  2. My home
  3. My sexy bloke
  4. My cat
  5. My knitting machines
  6. My little car
  7. My friends and family
Nothing too exciting here, huh?!

Yesterday I taught three people to crochet. One picked it up and flew, working far faster than I can! One picked it up and went at a medium pace. One picked it up, but it was a bit blobby. Practice makes perfect - you wouldn't get into a car for the first time and expect to be able to drive! Had some nice feedback from the shop owner (where the workshop took place) so that was nice.

Next week I am running a lace workshop, I need to work on a lace pattern for a heart that I drew up.

Past the armhole on the first front of the curly wurly waistcoat. Focus pays! :)

Blogstalker Week 9 - Junk Drawer

I do have other slightly junky drawers, but this one is the worst, and furthermore it's entirely my personal junk rather than household junk.

Wow, what is in here?!

Spare mobile phone fascias, rechargeable batteries, an old purse, safety glasses, a neon shoelace I made out of a skipping rope, Ipod headphones, a mosquito plug, old cassettes, 2 boxes of matches, a CD of backing papers, my old mobile, a double cassette that won't fit anywhere else, the old navy pencilcase my mum made me, a notebook (probably full of scribblings), Vanderbilt perfume and the cord from my never-used student security tag.

I need to have a sort out, don't I?!

Blogstalking Week 1 - Who am I?

Taken in the mirror in our hallway...

More info about me here - I hate to repeat myself.

Blogstalking Week 3 - How I get From Here to There!

Got this little baby in July. Apart from one puncture (my fault) it's run like a dream. There are already 5000 miles on the clock.

Only got this because the Cog's new job is in the opposite direction. If he moves back to Cov I shall still use this on Fridays.

Nicknamed the Steel Mobile. What else?!
