This is the effect you get without using a "cone blender" - larger stripes of colour, as the yarns don't twist together. It's still kinda nice, but a lot less random. I'm half-tempted to make my own Heath-Robinson blender - a plastic tiered vegetable rack, with holes cut into the shelves - that way, I could blend more than 3 cones at once. Hmmm.... I'll have to keep an eye out for a suitable candidate!
This is in cotton, so it drapes really well.
Now I've just got to figure out how to sew this up - the end stitches are quite big, and it's too thick for the linker, I don't want to split the wool....
